JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Take some time to unwind with friends, family or yourself this weekend. Below you’ll find a list of some fun events going on this weekend (April 12-14) around Mississippi.

Central Mississippi:

Dirty Napkins Supper Club – Jackson – Friday

  • Prepare to indulge in a meticulously crafted menu that celebrates the flavors of the season while fostering connections among friends, old and new.

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

Eudora Welty Birthday Bash – Jackson – Friday and Saturday

  • Celebrate Eudora Welty’s 115th birthday during this two-day event. On both days, tours of Welty’s home will be free during regular tour times. Reservations are recommended.

WOMENWrite 2024 – Ridgeland – Friday and Saturday

  • Come be inspired by author Patricia Bradley, WRITE, and learn how to perfect and promote your work, all at the Bill Waller Craft Center!

Masters Par-Tee – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Swing by and catch all the action on the big screen at the Capri Theatre. After the final putt drops, stick around for classic golf movies Tin Cup and Caddyshack

Spring Pilgrimage – Natchez – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The Historic Homes of Natchez will host tours until April 28, 2024.

Attack of the Bloodsuckers – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Through 13 icky exhibits, guests learn the what, why, who, and when of how parasites live, work, and play an important part in our ecosystems.

Flags from Mississippi – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

“Thank You Please Come Again” Exhibit – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Thank You Please Come Again features twenty-two photographs that document photojournalist Kate Medley’s ten-year journey through the heart of the American South.

Crawfish Crawl 5K & Festival – Brandon – Saturday

  • After the 5K, Mudbugs 042 will open for exclusive hours where there will be crawfish, a cornhole tournament, a raffle, and live music. In addition, an Art Crawl featuring artists from the metro area will be happening in the Mudbugs 042 parking lot.

Leap 4 Lily Pad – Ridgeland – Saturday

  • Help support disability awareness and raise funds for operating costs for The Lily Pad Café by participating in the 12th Annual Leap 4 The Lily Pad.

South Jackson Parade & Festival – Jackson – Saturday

  • The event will be held at 9:00 a.m. at 3180 McDowell Road Ext. in Jackson.

Spring Into Green Olde Towne Market & Caterpillar Parade – Clinton – Saturday

  • The parade will be led by the grand marshal, golf cart floats, a marching band, and Calliope the Caterpillar. The April Olde Towne Market will be happening from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the same time as the parade for you to shop and enjoy with food vendors.

Mississippi Symphony Orchestra Concert Ultimate Fusion – Jackson – Saturday

  • Award-winning Project Fusion, including founding member and University of Southern Mississippi professor Dannel Espinoza, shares the soulful colors and lively, distinctive style of Philip Glass’s world-renowned Concerto for Saxophone Quartet and Orchestra.

Country Western Dance Party – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • Dances will be led by the Mississippi Country Western Dancers’ Association.

Second Saturday – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • Second Saturday is an opportunity for the community to shop downtown, listen to live music, learn from featured artists and artisans, and much more.

Pooch-a-Palooza – Natchez – Saturday

  • There will be live music, silent auctions, a cornhole tournament, and games for the kiddos! Organizers will showcase some adorable fur babies for foster or adoption.

Lego Club – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • Legos will be provided so please leave your Legos at home. Ages 5 and up are welcomed. 

NatureFEST! – Jackson – Saturday

  • From live animals encounters to fish feedings by divers in our giant aquariums, NatureFEST! offers something for everyone.

En Plein Air Painting Competition – Flowood – Saturday

  • Just pay the few dollars to get into this beautiful park and you enjoy exploring the park, meeting the artists and watching them bring Mississippi landscapes to life.

MMA Spring Plant Sale – Jackson – Saturday

  • The event will feature a wide range of plants, from difficult-to-find native plants to choice shrubs and perennials appropriate for the Jackson area. 

Bubbles and Blooms Garden Party – Natchez – Saturday

  • Stroll through the back gardens, hear the history of the Magnolia Cottage, and enjoy refreshments.

BTC Market – Jackson – Saturday

  • There will be local vendors, live music, and small business pop ups!

Mississippi Farmers Market – Jackson – Saturday

  • From persimmons to peaches, from bok choy to butter beans, the Mississippi Farmers Market is the one place to go for the freshest fruits and vegetables that are grown in the state.

Natchez Farmers Market – Natchez – Saturday

  • Every week there will be live fresh produce, baked goods, fresh dairy, and arts and crafts all from local growers and artists.

McRaven Tour Home Ghost Investigation – Vicksburg – Saturday

  • During this event, you will learn about the house and family history during the haunted tour. After the tour, you will get to know the rest of the guests and investigators as you enjoy refreshments during a Q&A session.

Goodwill Art Show & Reception – Flowood – Sunday

  • The Goodwill Art show is an annual art exhibit to showcase more than 100 art selections by artists with disabilities in Mississippi.

Hollow Tree Screening – Jackson – Sunday

  • This documentary follows the story of three teenagers coming of age in their homeplace of Louisiana.

Soulful Sounds – Jackson – Sunday

  • This playful couple might remind you of Lucy & Ricky, and if you like everything from Erykah Badu to Billie Holiday, you’ll love grooving to their Soulful Sounds.
