Throwback Thursday History Lesson: Group Edition – Intro and N II U

Today I feel like schooling some of you! Lets take a trip back to the 90’s… Today, im going to give you two of the most slept on groups from the 90’s R&B era…First up…Intro…

One of the 90's most slept on groups has to be INTRO!  The band consisted of Jeff Sanders, Clinton “Buddy” Wike and Kenny Greene(RIP).  With hits such as Come Inside,” “Let Me Be The One,” and “Funny How Time Flies, intro rose to the top of R&B charts quick! Like many other great male groups of the 90's, it was hard to stay at the top…It's hard to keep a top spot when you had other groups such as Jodeci, Boys II Men, H-Town & many more……But intro pulled it off!  Their lead singer who just happened to by my favorite producer "Kenny G-Love Greene(RIP) was the man with the plan. He went on to produce numerous tracks such as Mary J's reminisce & love no limit! Unfortunately, Atlantic Records only released two of their cd’s "Intro and New Life"……Intro was one of the 90's most slept on groups! Check out my favorite songs by intro below

Part two of your history lesson: N II U…

This group was so dope! Pronounced "Into You", hails from Newark new Jersey…Its members Chuckie Howard, Chris Herbert, Don Carlis and Craig Hill had vocals that could blow your mind…….As I stated earlier, it was hard being a male group in the 90's..So many talented guys….Their hit single I miss you peaked at number 9 on the U.S. Rhythmic charts. One thing I liked about tis group was that they could switch their production style up, thanks to Vincent Herbert ( Tamar Braxton's Husband) Check out one of my favorite tracks by N II U below. Next Thursday ill give you my top 10 favorite producers from the 90's!
